Jennifer Aniston Hopes Her Next Relationship is with Someone ‘Not Necessarily in the Industry’
Jennifer Aniston is keeping her options open when it comes to seeking love.
The actress was asked if she believed relationships between famous personalities and non-public figures might work by Kay Adams of PEOPLE (The TV Show!) while promoting the second season of her Apple TV+ series The Morning Show.
Aniston, 52, said: “Of course,” “Absolutely. I mean, it’s happened. That’s what I’m sort of hoping for is not necessarily somebody in the industry itself.”
She further added, “That’d be nice.”
Aniston has previously rejected claims that she and Friends co-star David Schwimmer were dating, calling them “bizarre.”
“I could not believe that, actually. Like, really? That’s my brother! But I understand it, though,” Aniston told Entertainment Tonight. “It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies for dreams to come true.”
HBO Max’s long-awaited Friends reunion revealed in May that Aniston and Schwimmer, who portrayed Rachel Green and Ross Geller on the comedy series, had a hidden offscreen crush. During the special, James Corden, the host, questioned the cast if they had ever seen real-life sparks fly.
Schwimmer, 54, claimed to have a “major crush” on Aniston when she recommended he take on the question “but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”
Aniston added, “Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”
Aniston spoke about her dating life during an interview in June with PEOPLE and said that she would never try a dating app.
“Absolutely no,” she said with a laugh when asked if she would ever use the apps. “I’m going to just stick to the normal ways of dating. Having someone ask you out. That’s the way I would prefer it.”
When asked if she’d consider getting married again, Aniston says she’s more concerned about being with a “fantastic partner.”
“Oh God, I don’t know,” she said. “It’s not on my radar. I’m interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another. That’s all we should hope for. It doesn’t have to be etched in stone in legal documents.”
From 2000 to 2005, Aniston was married to Brad Pitt. She split from her second husband, Justin Theroux, in 2018 after nearly seven years together and more than two years of marriage.
For the time being, the actress claimed she is concentrating on her career, friends, and pets: schnauzer mix Clyde, pit-bull mix Sophie, and newly rescued Great Pyrenees mix Lord Chesterfield.
“I’m in a really peaceful place. I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs,” she said at the time. “I’m just a very fortunate and blessed human being.”
