Whoopi Goldberg is leaving The View ‘for a while’
The View on ABC started the week by announcing that co-host Whoopi Goldberg will be “gone for a while.”
Joy Behar, her co-host on the show, broke the news at the start of the show. “If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl’s got a movie she’s making,” said Behar. “She will be back when she finishes whatever she’s doing. So she’s gone for a while.”
As per Nypost Network reported, for the next few weeks, Goldberg will be in Scotland filming Anansi Boys, a new six-episode Prime Video series set in contemporary London and following a cast of characters in a story that stretches the UK, Florida, the Caribbean, and the mythical World Before Time.
Bird Woman, God of Birds, and one of the show’s main antagonists has been cast as Goldberg. Her filming schedule includes a week off from The View (week of April 18).
Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin co-hosted The View this morning. Behar has stepped into Goldberg’s chair to serve as moderator.
