Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might face some restless nights ahead as Harry’s privacy battle unfolds, putting his U.S. visa status under scrutiny. The core of the issue lies in the potential discrepancies in Harry’s visa application, specifically regarding his past drug use, which he candidly discussed in his 2023 memoir, “Spare.”

The Heritage Foundation is spearheading a campaign to have the Duke of Sussex’s visa application disclosed to the public, aiming to scrutinize his responses for any falsehoods. This push for transparency stems from Harry’s public admission of drug use, raising questions about the implications for his ability to reside in the U.S.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn shared his insights with the Daily Express US, suggesting that Harry might face significant challenges due to this visa complication. Quinn pointed out that Harry’s royal background might have led him to overlook the potential legal ramifications of his admissions, as he has been accustomed to a life where conventional rules often do not apply to him.

“We are not going to know until the judge makes some kind of a decision, but Harry and Meghan will be having sleepless nights over this,” he went on.

The upcoming legal proceedings will not directly determine Prince Harry’s residency status in the U.S. Instead, the focus will be on whether the Department of Homeland Security is obligated to release the details of Harry’s visa application, including his disclosures. This case highlights the complex interplay between public figures’ rights to privacy and the public’s interest in transparency, especially when legal and immigration issues are involved.
