GOP Worries About Trump’s Ties to Controversial Far-Right Figure Laura Loomer
Concerns are mounting within the Republican Party as Donald Trump continues to maintain a close relationship with far-right figure Laura Loomer, a self-proclaimed investigative journalist with a history of racist and sexist remarks. GOP insiders fear that Loomer’s controversial rhetoric could damage Trump’s chances in the upcoming election.
Loomer, who has been accused of having an affair with Trump—a claim she denies—addressed these rumors on her Loomer Unleashed podcast, lashing out at her critics for spreading false allegations. On X (formerly Twitter), Loomer posted a video along with a defiant message: “The media is DESPERATE to silence me with their LIES, calling me a racist and a 9/11 conspiracy theorist!
According to OK! Magazine, They HATE that they can’t control me, and that’s why they’re so scared! That’s why they hate President Trump too because THEY HATE THOSE WHO THEY CANNOT CONTROL!” She went on to declare, “I’ve got nothing to lose, and thus I will keep exposing the truth no matter how hard people try to stop me.”
In the video, Loomer responded to criticism of a racist joke she had previously made about Vice President Kamala Harris, in which she said that if Harris won the election, the White House would “smell like curry” and her speeches would be handled by a call center. Loomer defended herself, saying, “You can’t control me… I’m not a racist… It’s not going to stop me from exposing you. You can’t break me.”
Loomer also addressed the affair rumors with Trump, calling them “malicious” and “disrespectful” to both Donald and Melania Trump. “Such a salacious lie,” she said. “I don’t suck d— to get to the top. That’s what Kamala Harris does.” Loomer added, “I’m not even going to repeat the things that they’re saying about me… it’s just honestly the most disgusting s— I’ve heard in my life.”
Previously, Loomer condemned comedian Bill Maher after he joked about her supposed arranged relationship with Trump. On his HBO show, Real Time with Bill Maher, he speculated that Loomer might be in an “arranged relationship” with Trump to influence the election, as reported by Newsweek.
Loomer responded on X, threatening legal action: “I should sue Bill Maher for defamation… It’s a complete and blatant lie.” Loomer’s inflammatory remarks and ongoing connection with Trump continue to raise concerns within the GOP, as party leaders worry about the potential fallout from her controversial public statements.
