Eberhard & co. New collection edition Chrono 4 ’21-42′
The Chrono 4, one of the most famous watches designed by Eberhard, was launched in 2001 after significant investments in research and development to create a chronograph with 4 sequential counters for the chronograph minute, chronograph hours, 24 hours, and small seconds to accomplish.
To mark the 20th anniversary of this model, the Swiss brand presents its latest interpretation, the Chrono 4 21-42 (21 refers to the year 2021 and 42 refers to the diameter of the watch).
The watch is housed in a 42mm x 13.30mm round stainless steel case with a slim and sturdy black ceramic bezel engraved with a white tachymeter scale.
The dial, protected by a sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating, is available in black or white and the “Azurée” features a “Clous de Paris” background with four subdials. With the exception of the central chronograph seconds hand, the other six hands are skeletonized with a luminous tip to improve readability in poor light conditions.
The solid case back is secured with 6 screws and features a personalized central dimming medallion with the Chrono 4 21-42 logo. Mechanical caliber EB with self-winding on the back. The 251 (based on ETA 2894-2 incorporating Eberhard’s patented sequential counter device) beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 42 hours.
The Eberhard Chrono 4 21-42 is water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 ATM (approx. 50 meters / 165 feet) and can be combined with a metal bracelet as well as a leather or rubber bracelet.
Target price of the new Eberhard Chrono 4 21-42 ref. 31073.01 (white dial with white counter) and Ref. 31073.03 (black dial with white counter) cost 4,700 euros.
