Selena Gomez stepped out in New York City after she and the cast of her quirky French musical film Emilia Perez received a prestigious French honor on Thursday.

In Emilia Perez, a Spanish-language crime comedy, Gomez plays a brutal cartel leader who fakes their own death to transition into a woman. The film, directed by Jacques Audiard, also stars Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldana, Edgar Ramirez, and Adriana Paz.

Gomez and the rest of the Emilia Perez cast were awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education, in New York. The Daily Mail reports that the honor recognizes their contributions to the arts through their roles in the film.

At the ceremony, Gomez wore the striking green medal pinned to the silk lapel of her chic black blazer dress. She shared her gratitude on Instagram, posting photos from the event and thanking Ambassador Bouabdallah and Villa Albertine. “Thank you @mbouabdallah_ for honoring my cast with the Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres tonight at @villa.albertine for Emilia Perez!” she wrote.

In the post, Gomez included a selfie showing off her medal, along with photos of the cast celebrating with champagne and ambassador Bouabdallah. For the event, the Only Murders in The Building star paired her sleek blazer dress with black pumps featuring gold heels. Her long hair was styled in straight strands, cascading down her back and chest.

As the founder of Rare Beauty, Gomez’s makeup was on point, featuring a matte rose-toned lip, smoky eyeshadow, and a radiant glow on her cheeks. Bronzing powder added definition to her already stunning features.

Gomez, accompanied by two bodyguards, was spotted walking down a New York City sidewalk after the ceremony, marking yet another milestone in her multifaceted career.
