Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation are facing fresh legal trouble as prominent attorney Tony Buzbee has filed a lawsuit accusing the entertainment giant of using unethical and illegal tactics to undermine his firm.

Buzbee, whose firm recently filed a civil case accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, has escalated his legal battle with the rapper. Jay-Z, 55, has vehemently denied the allegations, dismissing them as “idiotic” and accusing Buzbee of attempting to “blackmail” him.

Now, in a new lawsuit, Buzbee alleges that Roc Nation deployed “shadowy operatives” who used “fake badges” and intimidation tactics to pressure his clients into turning against him.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Buzbee detailed the accusations, claiming Roc Nation reached out to his former clients, offering monetary incentives to file lawsuits against his firm. “The Defendants this time overstepped, got sloppy and stupidly got caught at their illegal scheme on tape,” Buzbee wrote.

According to the lawsuit, Jay-Z’s team allegedly promised Buzbee’s clients up to $10,000 (£7,900) to file false claims against him. Additionally, employees of Roc Nation reportedly pretended to be state officials, using fake identification to further coerce individuals into compliance.

The Texas-based lawyer, known for representing multiple accusers of Sean “Diddy” Combs, condemned the alleged actions as blatant misconduct. “We have reported this conduct to the authorities and intend to cooperate to ensure all involved are prosecuted to the full extent allowed under Texas law,” Buzbee concluded in his statement.

This lawsuit marks another chapter in the intensifying legal battle between Buzbee and Jay-Z. The original civil case involving allegations of rape at a 2000 VMA afterparty has already placed immense scrutiny on both Jay-Z and Diddy, further fueling controversy around their past.

While Jay-Z’s team has yet to respond to these latest allegations, the lawsuit raises significant questions about the conduct of Roc Nation and whether illegal methods were indeed employed.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the case threatens to cast a shadow over Roc Nation’s reputation and Jay-Z’s legacy. For now, Buzbee has made it clear he intends to hold those responsible accountable, leaving the public to await further developments in this escalating legal showdown.
