Kardashian Family’s Legal Team Responds to Allegations After Blac Chyna Accuses Trial Judge of Being ‘Undeniably Hostile and Extremely Biased’
Given the length of time it took Blac Chyna’s defamation lawsuit against the Kardashians to reach trial, the model and reality TV star isn’t taking her recent court loss lightly, and she hasn’t given up on proving that she was wrongfully denied future earnings from the second season of E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoff series Rob & Chyna.
The newest movie by her legal team comprised some legal documentation accusing Judge Gregory W. Alarcon of being unfriendly and biased in his treatment of Chyna and her counsel Lynne Ciani. The Kardashians’ legal team quickly responded to the allegations with a statement.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Kardashian family’s attorney did not agree with Blac Chyna’s assertions and responded in a way that contradicted the singer/rapper’s stance on the matter. The Kardashians’ lawyer, according to TMZ, didn’t pull punches in dismissing the allegations, saying:
[The filing is a] baseless effort to save face after losing at trial. . . . Their effort to make a scapegoat of Judge Alarcon is frivolous, dishonest, and deserving of sanctions.
Furthermore, the attorney points a suspicious finger at the fact that Blac Chyna’s own lawyer didn’t bring up any issues with the judge until after the jury had ruled in favor of the Kardashians.
It’s unclear whether this reaction is more credible than Chyna’s own statements, but it’s expected that someone from the legal community will weigh in at some point in the future.
Blac Chyna reportedly accused Judge Gregory W. Alarcon of being “undeniably hostile and extremely biased” toward the plaintiff and her lawyer in a new judicial document. It is claimed that the judge’s alleged bias influenced the final result through his jury instructions.
It’s unclear if the legal filings are related, but Walter Mosley, the former executive producer of Rob & Chyna, was also suspicious of things in the courtroom skewed unfairly in the Kardashians’ favor.
Aside from the Kardashians’ vast legal staff and deep money, Mosley said on the podcast It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper that the court gave evident bias to the Kardashians while displaying no such favor to Blac Chyna’s attorney.
Blac Chyna’s mother, Tokyo Toni, was barred from entering the courtroom after she was accused of making threatening comments about the Kardashians and marquee mom Kris Jenner, who testified that Chyna threatened daughter Kylie Jenner and Tyga over their relationship on an Instagram Live video.
At the time, Lynne Ciana maintained that Chyna was not to blame for her mother’s behavior and should not be held accountable.
As per Cinemablend, Tokyo Toni provided a more upbeat post-trial update by revealing that she and daughter Blac Chyna are working on a new TV show together for Toni’s Roku Channel called The SHN Network.
It will reportedly be a talk show rather than a lifestyle-driven format, having conversations with everyday people as well as celebrities. Maybe they’ll invite Judge Alarcon on the show one day, though probably not.
