All the Celebrities Who Announced They’re Expecting Babies This Year
This year is anything like 2019, the Hollywood baby boom will keep going strong. America Ferrera ended the old year with the announcement of her second child, while Michelle Williams kicked off the new one with pregnancy, an engagement to Hamilton and Fosse/Verdon director Thomas Kail, and a major Golden Globes speech about women’s choices. Oscar nominee Chloë Sevigny also announced in 2020 that she’s pregnant with her first child.
We can’t wait to see who else announces they are expecting new little bundles of joy as the year goes on. For now, though, here are all the pregnant celebrities (and those who are expecting a baby by another route) that you’ll be hearing about in 2020. A big congratulations to all of them is in store.
Lea Michele and Zandy Reich
The Glee veteran is reportedly expecting her first child, with husband, entrepreneur, and business owner Zandy Reich, according to People. “They’ve always wanted to be parents,” a source tells the magazine. Michele has not confirmed the news yet
Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome
Rupert Grint (you know, the Ron Weasley from Harry Potter) and his girlfriend, Georgia Groome, are going to be first-time parents, according to a statement from his rep to E! News. “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time.”
On April 10, Rupert Grint began trending on Twitter with Harry Potter fans freaking out about the news. “Friendly reminder that Rupert Grint used his Harry Potter cash to buy an ice cream truck, which he drives around to hand out free ice cream,” one tweet with more than 2,000 likes said. “He’s gonna be such a great dad
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
Baby number two for the couple is on the way, Parrish confirmed on Instagram in March 2020. “In the midst of all of this we’re counting our blessings and couldn’t be more grateful!” she posted. (They already share one child together, and Hart has two children from his previous marriage.)
Meghan McCain
The View cohost Meghan McCain announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant with her first child with husband Ben Domenech. “My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant,” McCain shared. “Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all.” In order to comply with her doctor’s wishes during the coronavirus outbreak, McCain will be appearing on The View from home via satellite.
Camilla Luddington
The Grey’s Anatomy actor announced on Monday, March 9, that she and husband Matthew Alan are expecting their second child together.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
The couple confirmed via Perry’s new music video for the song “Never Worn White” that they’re expecting their first child together.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
House Jonas is reportedly expecting an heir. “Multiple sources” tell Just Jared that Sophie Turner is pregnant with her first child with new husband Joe Jonas. The 23-year-old Game of Thrones actor and 30-year-old pop star got married in Vegas in May 2019 and hosted a second ceremony in France a month later.
“The couple is keeping things very hush-hush, but their friends and family are super excited for them,” a source told Just Jared. Apparently, Turner has been keeping the news on the down-low through clever styling. “Sophie has decidedly been choosing outfits to wear on and off the carpet to accommodate her changing body,” a source claimed. The couple and their reps have yet to confirm the news.
