Cara Delevingne recently opened up about the unexpected ‘pain’ she experienced after deciding to go sober. The 31-year-old model stopped drinking alcohol in 2022, initially believing she would feel better in the mornings after nights out without alcohol. However, she was met with an unforeseen consequence: severe headaches the following day from drinking sugar-packed soft drinks.

“I thought going sober would make my mornings better, but I ended up with terrible headaches,” Delevingne shared. “I was drinking a lot of sugary soft drinks to replace alcohol, which left me feeling worse.”

She revealed to The Sun, “Nearly two years ago when I got sober, I thought, ‘I probably won’t go out as much, my life’s probably going to change’.” “And to be honest I went out way more than before – which is great, apart from when you go out, you drink a hell of a lot of sugar,” Cara added.

To her surprise, after sober nightouts, Cara shared that she would “wake up in the morning with a terrible headache.” The Paper Towns star further said, “I’m sober to be healthy and to be happy. Instead, I feel left with pain.”

Hence Cara came up with the idea of alcohol-free wine, “beautiful tasting, great quality but low sugar and low calories,” which will not cause her headaches. “I just like having something in my hand. For me, it was never about the alcohol,” Cara said.

And she recently launched non-alcoholic wine, Cara concluded, “It’s not about being sober, it’s about being yourself. When I want to go out to have fun, I want to celebrate.” In response to her experience, Delevingne recently launched a line of non-alcoholic wine. Reflecting on her journey, she concluded, “It’s not about being sober, it’s about being yourself. When I want to go out to have fun, I want to celebrate.”

Her decision to stop drinking and the subsequent challenges highlight the often-overlooked difficulties that come with sobriety. Delevingne’s candidness about her struggle with sugar-laden alternatives sheds light on the need for healthier, enjoyable options for those who choose not to drink alcohol.

By launching her non-alcoholic wine, Delevingne aims to provide a solution not only for herself but also for others who wish to enjoy social gatherings without the negative effects of sugary beverages or alcohol. Her initiative is a testament to her commitment to wellness and authenticity.
