Whoopi Goldberg has stated she is “not a lesbian,” responding to comments made by her former “The View” co-host, Raven-Symoné. On the latest episode of “The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda,” Raven-Symoné candidly shared with Goldberg that she perceived “lesbian vibes” from her during their time together on the talk show.

Raven-Symoné’s wife and podcast co-host, Miranda Maday, humorously suggested that Raven-Symoné might secretly hope everyone is gay. To this, the “That’s So Raven” star jokingly encouraged Goldberg to share any revelations with them.

Addressing these comments, Goldberg clarified, “Women frequently question my sexuality. While I’m not a lesbian, I’ve portrayed them on TV and have many lesbian friends.”

Goldberg further discussed her close friendships, explaining her personal boundaries. “There are things I’m comfortable doing with friends and things I’m not, and they respect that,” she remarked.

Raven-Symoné praised Goldberg’s genuine self-expression, noting how it challenges societal norms about gender and sexuality. She commented on the beauty of embracing both masculine and feminine sides, lauding Goldberg for living in this “duality” seamlessly.

Goldberg, an EGOT winner, has been married thrice. She first married Alvin Martin at 18 in 1973, with whom she has a daughter, Alexandrea. Later marriages were to David Claessen (1986-1988) and Lyle Trachtenberg (1994-1995). Since her last divorce, she’s expressed a lack of interest in remarrying. In a recent 2023 “The View” episode discussing societal expectations around marriage, Goldberg succinctly stated her stance: “I don’t care.”
