Prince William and Kate Middleton Reportedly Snubbed the Royal Family Deliberately

Prince William and Princess Kate were noticeably absent from this year’s traditional Easter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, marking the second year in a row the couple and their children have stayed away from the royal event.

The decision to miss the high-profile occasion has stirred discussion behind Palace doors, with Us Weekly reporting that their absence “raised eyebrows,” and one royal insider suggesting it felt like “a deliberate move and even a snub.”

Instead of joining the royal family for the Easter Sunday service, the Prince and Princess of Wales opted for a quiet family holiday at their Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall, with their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

A source told The Mirror, “They are choosing to spend time together as a family before the children go back to school.” While many sympathized with their absence last year due to Kate’s cancer diagnosis, this year’s decision appears to have drawn more scrutiny.

“Everyone understood the family not attending last year when Kate was sick, but there’s been a lot of raised eyebrows at the Palace about William’s decision to skip again this year,” the Us Weekly insider revealed. “It feels like a deliberate move and even a snub.”

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla led the 2025 Easter Sunday service with a reduced lineup of senior royals. Attendees included Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, forming what observers called a “scaled-down” royal presence.

The choice by William and Kate to remain out of the public eye aligns with the Princess’s continued recovery following her cancer diagnosis, which she publicly revealed in March 2024. Since then, she has remained largely away from public duties, focusing on her health and family life.

Their ongoing low-profile approach has reignited debates about the evolving role of the younger royals, particularly as King Charles continues to trim the size of the working royal family and manage public expectations.

While no official comment has been made from Kensington Palace regarding their Easter absence, the decision underscores the couple’s clear intent to prioritize their children and Kate’s recovery over public tradition, for now.

As the royal calendar moves forward, all eyes remain on how and when the Prince and Princess of Wales will resume their duties amid both personal health challenges and the pressures of royal responsibility.
