Prince William Avoids ‘Showy’ Moves to Prevent Overshadowing Key Events, Says Kate Mansey
As King Charles embarks on his Royal tour of Australia, Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to take a step back from the spotlight, focusing instead on spending quality time with their children.
The Prince and Princess of Wales plan to keep a low profile during His Majesty’s tour, opting to spend Halloween with their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Royal expert and The Times editor, Royal Editor at The Times, Kate Mansey, said on her Royals with Roya and Kate podcast: “It was probably not very diplomatic for William to be doing anything too showy to detract from it.”
While William and Kate prepare for a quieter Halloween celebration, family traditions remain important to them. Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, has previously expressed her fondness for the holiday and the joy it brings. In a post shared on her Party Pieces website in 2022, Carole wrote: “Halloween is an autumn highlight for me.
I can still remember the fun and frights from my own childhood; the chance to dress up, decorate pumpkins, and go trick-or-treating!” As the Prince and Princess of Wales focus on family time and discretion during King Charles’ tour, it’s clear that they are making a conscious effort to balance their public duties with personal family moments.
