Meghan suffers awkward moment as she asks woman to move away from Harry
Meghan Markle faced an uncomfortable situation during a recent outing with Prince Harry at the Sentebale polo tournament in Miami. The incident occurred just before the couple, who were documented by a film crew, shared a public kiss at the event.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were attending the annual Sentebale Polo Cup, a charity event supporting Sentebale, which Prince Harry co-founded in 2006 to help children affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. Prince Harry participated in the match as the captain of the Royal Salute Sentebale Team, which competed against the Grand Champions Team.
Celebrating their victory, Meghan presented Harry with the trophy and then joined him for a celebratory kiss in front of the attendees. However, the event also included a moment of awkwardness captured on video and widely shared online.
In the footage, Meghan is seen requesting a woman in a white dress to reposition herself in the middle of the group, away from Prince Harry, ostensibly to allow Meghan to stand next to her husband for a photo opportunity. During the exchange, Prince Harry kept his arm around Meghan as they navigated the social maneuver.
The woman eventually moved, albeit needing to duck under the trophy to find her new spot on stage, after which she appeared to exchange a few words with the Duchess. This moment led to mixed reactions online, with one viewer commenting on the platform X, “They are both so awkward.”
Another described the situation as “cringeworthy.” However, a third observer noted that there might have been a misunderstanding, mentioning, “It was actually the other woman in the white dress asking. Lol, people make the biggest deals out of literally nothing.”
Despite the brief tension, the event highlighted the couple’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes and their ability to navigate the complexities of public life.
