Meghan Markle Skips Award Ceremony Following Paparazzi Car Chase, Contrary to Initial Reports

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were recently subjected to a harrowing two-hour car chase by paparazzi, described as “relentless” and “near catastrophic.” In the aftermath of this incident, Meghan was scheduled to attend the Gracie Awards in Beverly Hills, where she was set to receive an award for her podcast Archetypes. However, contrary to initial speculation, the Duchess of Sussex did not attend the ceremony due to a pre-existing personal commitment, as reported by Hello!.

Since their public appearance in New York City last week at the Ms. Foundation’s Women of Vision Awards, Meghan and Harry have not made any further public appearances. A source close to the couple expressed to Us Weekly their astonishment at the skepticism surrounding the car chase incident, emphasizing that their account was not exaggerated and that the doubts being raised are hurtful and unjust.

The source also made it clear that Meghan and Harry have no intention of hiding or shying away from the public eye. On the contrary, the ordeal has only strengthened their determination to stand up for themselves and speak out when they feel wronged.

In response to conspiracy theories suggesting that the car chase was staged, the couple’s spokesperson, Ashley Hansen, vehemently refuted such claims. Hansen pointed out the significance of Prince Harry’s family history, specifically the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997 during a pursuit by paparazzi in Paris. Hansen dismissed any notion that the incident was a PR stunt and described such insinuations as abhorrent.

This open and vocal approach from Meghan and Harry’s spokesperson contrasts with the traditional stance of the royal family, which typically adheres to a “never complain, never explain” policy, leading their representatives to rarely comment on news stories.
