Meghan Markle has reportedly sent a silent message to Prince Harry indicating that she ‘doesn’t need’ him to achieve success.
As per royal historian Tessa Dunlop, while speaking to New Magazine, Meghan’s ‘impressive star power’, with her previous history as an actress, could lend her the necessary traction she needs in order to gain success.
While acknowledging that Meghan paired with Prince Harry makes for a powerful duo, her success prior to meeting the Duke of Sussex, in the form of her hit legal drama Suits, could not be ignored.
“Together, yes, they’re greater than the sum of their parts, and yes, the royal connection has taken her platform to a level that she’s never experienced before. But we can’t say it’s all just because she married a prince,” Tessa said.
She added that this was only more apparent when Meghan reportedly opted for a single name Instagram handle @meghan, which signaled her booming presence, despite the page having no bio information as well as no confirmation that it belongs to the former actress.
Tessa said of her choice of making her Instagram handle without her last name: “Meghan has done that to send out a message – this is how big I am. She is well and truly making her mark once more.”
