Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has received largely negative reviews from royal fans and critics alike. However, PR expert Renae Smith argues that the show effectively aligns with Meghan’s established public image.
Speaking to The Express, Smith defended the Duchess of Sussex—who now goes by Meghan Sussex—saying the series was never intended to sway skeptics but rather to reinforce her brand and resonate with her loyal audience.

“The show was never designed to convert skeptics—it was created to solidify her existing brand and appeal to the aspirational audience who already resonate with her,” Smith explained.
While critics may remain unconvinced, Smith believes the series accomplishes its primary goal: presenting Meghan as a lifestyle influencer firmly within her niche.

“This is Meghan, staying firmly in her comfort zone, doing what she does best—being a fully fledged aspirational domestic goddess influencer,” she said. “Whether that’s well-received or not depends entirely on who’s watching.”

The series offers an intimate look into Meghan’s homemaking skills, morning routines, and personal reflections on her upbringing in Los Angeles. While reception has been mixed, Smith suggests that the content plays directly to the strengths of Meghan’s public persona.
With reactions continuing to pour in, With Love, Meghan has sparked debate over the Duchess’s evolving role in media and how she positions herself in the public eye.
