Meghan Markle appears to be taking control of the media narrative surrounding her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan, by strategically amplifying positive reviews while avoiding direct engagement with criticism. The Duchess of Sussex has been sharing favorable feedback about the show on social media, a move experts believe is designed to counteract any negative commentary.
PR and social media expert Caitlin Jardine of Ellis Digital spoke to GB News about Meghan’s approach, emphasizing the importance of timing and message control in shaping public perception. “The trick will be all about timing for Meghan, as whilst she should acknowledge conversations around the show, she should be mindful not to engage directly in anything controversial,” Jardine explained.

She further noted that responding selectively to discussions about the series allows Meghan to “remain in control of the narrative by sharing her perspective and answering any questions that viewers may have after watching.” Jardine advised that the Duchess should steer clear of addressing contentious topics directly, as doing so could lead to further scrutiny.

“To avoid getting caught up in any controversial discussion that may come back to bite her, she should instead focus on highlighting all of the positive elements of the show, such as its themes of empowerment that align with her brand,” the expert said.

Meghan’s calculated approach to media engagement follows a familiar strategy often employed by high-profile figures seeking to reinforce their public image. By emphasizing empowerment and positivity, she can maintain control over the conversation while sidestepping potential backlash.
While With Love, Meghan has received a mixed reception, the Duchess appears determined to focus on its strengths, ensuring that her version of the narrative remains at the forefront.
