Meghan Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., has fired back at revelations made by the Duchess of Sussex in her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The former Suits actress made a surprising confession during an episode featuring her friend Mindy Kaling, sharing details about her upbringing in what appeared to be a veiled dig at her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
“I was a latchkey kid, so I grew up with a lot of fast food and TV tray meals,” Meghan said in the episode. “It feels like such a different time, but that was so normal with the microwavable kids’ meals.” Her comments left Kaling visibly shocked, but Thomas Markle Jr. was quick to dismiss her claims, branding them as fabricated.

In a scathing statement to TalkTV, he rejected Meghan’s account. “That’s just another one of the malarkey stories she sold to the royal family for sympathy,” he said. “We weren’t poor. She didn’t have to rub two nickels together at Sizzler’s salad bar.” He further accused Meghan of misrepresenting her upbringing for public sympathy.
“The entire world knows how she treated her family, especially her father, who gave her everything. That’s why nobody’s buying it.” Meghan has been estranged from her father and half-siblings for years, following a series of highly publicized family controversies.
