Meghan Markle is reportedly reflecting on the impact of her past comments about the Royal Family, particularly those made during her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. In that interview, the Duchess of Sussex discussed her experiences within the royal institution, which included allegations of racism.

Royal biographer Angela Levin shared insights on the situation during an appearance on GB News with host Nana Akua. Levin stated, “She deeply regrets how she behaved towards the royals, and she’s very sorry about saying that they were racist. I don’t know if I believe it, but in any case, it’s much too late, isn’t it? Everybody’s learned that that was nonsense, and it’s no longer listened to.”

Levin continued, expressing the emotional toll the allegations may have had on the late Queen Elizabeth II. “It was very, very cruel, and I think the Queen, when she had heard that, it was very painful for her. Because the one thing the Queen wasn’t was racist, in any way or any form,” she said.

In addition to discussing Meghan’s reported regrets, Levin touched upon recent challenges faced by the Duchess in her professional endeavors. Specifically, she mentioned issues surrounding a failed trademark application. “Her trademark has been refused, and they think it’s been very carelessly done,” Levin noted.

The trademark in question pertains to a lifestyle brand titled “American Riviera Orchard.” According to Levin, Meghan encountered legal hurdles because the name references a geographic location. “She’s not allowed to use that because it is a part of the area, and she can’t own an area. So it’s not been accepted,” Levin explained. She added, “You’d think that when you want to do such a big deal, you start with doing that first, and then you send 50 jam jars away. You don’t do it before you’ve got everything sorted with the trademark to do that.”

Levin’s comments suggest that Meghan’s approach to both her personal and professional life may be facing scrutiny. The combination of public reflections on past actions and setbacks in business ventures paints a picture of a challenging period for the Duchess.

As Meghan navigates these complexities, observers and royal commentators alike continue to speculate on the potential for reconciliation with the Royal Family and the future of her independent projects.
