Meghan Markle is fiercely protective of her family’s privacy, and when it came to filming her latest project, With Love, Meghan, there was one strict boundary—no cameras inside her Montecito home. In an interview with People magazine published on March 5, the Duchess of Sussex explained her reasoning. “I wanted to protect that safe haven,” she shared.
For Meghan, her home is a sanctuary where she shares intimate moments with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day,” she added.

Having a full production crew invade that private space wasn’t an option for Meghan, who made it clear that her kitchen—where she personally cooks for her family—was off-limits. “Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!” she explained.

Instead, Meghan came up with a creative solution: she rented a separate home for all indoor filming while using parts of her own property—such as her lush garden, orchard, and charming chicken coop—for outdoor shots.
With Love, Meghan is produced by Archewell Productions, the media company Meghan and Harry founded. The series gives a glimpse into Meghan’s passion for cooking, gardening, and entertaining, featuring A-list guests like Mindy Kaling, legendary chef Alice Waters, and her longtime friend Abigail Spencer. And for those wondering—yes, Prince Harry does make a brief cameo!
The show premiered on March 4, coinciding with the launch of Meghan’s highly anticipated new lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Adding an extra special touch to the filming experience, Meghan revealed that their children got to witness her at work for the first time. In a heartwarming moment, Archie even got to handle the filming clapboard. “Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” she said. “It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
