Expert Says Kate and William Outshine Harry and Meghan in Global Interest, Despite Sussexes’ Recent Tours
Kate Middleton remains unbothered by any perceived competition with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, even after their recent public appearances and tours. According to royal experts, the Princess of Wales, who recently announced she is cancer-free, continues to be a globally popular figure, surpassing the Sussexes in public interest.
Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Gareth Russell emphasized that while Harry and Meghan’s recent international tours received positive coverage, they did not attract the same level of attention as official royal visits. “I don’t think the pressure is mounting on the Prince and Princess of Wales in terms of competing with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” he stated.
Russell further explained that Kate and Prince William remain more prominent in both Britain and America compared to Harry and Meghan. “The Prince and Princess of Wales are figures generally of much greater interest to most people than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” he noted.
While Harry and Meghan’s tours have been deemed successful, Russell added that they have not garnered the same level of public interest as a royal tour led by the Princess of Wales would. “We’re still not seeing a massive uptick in the amount of public interest in the Sussexes compared to, say, the interest in the Princess of Wales,” he continued.
As Kate recovers and resumes her royal duties, Russell predicted that the public’s attention will turn to her once again, especially as she prepares for future royal tours. “I think there certainly will be interest in new royal tours once the Princess of Wales is well,” he concluded.
Despite the buzz around the Sussexes, Kate Middleton remains a dominant figure on the global stage, ready to return to her royal duties with renewed strength.
