Expert Says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Need to Apologize to Rebuild Trust Amid Struggle with William and Kate

If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hope to mend their relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton, royal experts say they need to take a step toward making amends. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, now residing in California, are advised to offer a sincere apology to the royal family in order to restore trust and secure their future ties with the monarchy.

Royal expert Richard Eden recently discussed the likelihood of reconciliation on the Palace Confidential podcast. He explained, “I’ve been speaking to people about… the chances of a reconciliation between the brothers.” According to Eden, sources within royal circles believe that the first step for Harry and Meghan should be to express regret for the public remarks they’ve made about the royal family, which have strained relationships and led to ongoing tension.

“They need to apologize, at least privately,” Eden continued, pointing to the challenges that any reconciliation faces. A significant issue for William and Kate, he noted, is the lack of trust. “How can there be that reconciliation when William and Catherine just don’t know what will later appear in a TV program or in a book?” he asked, suggesting that ongoing concerns about privacy are a major barrier to rebuilding their bond.

The release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, which revealed intimate conversations and private moments within the royal family, has been particularly difficult for William and Kate. Eden elaborated, “Can you imagine what they were thinking about? Because, in his memoirs, he had just revealed those intimate conversations that they never in a million years thought would have been published.”

Eden’s perspective reflects a broader sentiment that for any meaningful reconciliation to occur, Harry and Meghan must first address the breach of trust. “Once you’ve lost that trust, you’ve kind of lost it forever,” he remarked, highlighting the challenge ahead if the Sussexes wish to reconnect with their royal relatives.

Rebuilding their relationship with William and Kate would require Harry and Meghan to take accountability for past actions and perhaps rethink how they share family matters publicly. For now, the expert believes that without a genuine apology and assurance of privacy, there will likely be no “welcome back” from William, Kate, or the royal family.
