Expert Suggests Archie and Lilibet May One Day Realize the Impact of Their Cousin Becoming King

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent purchase of a home in Portugal is sparking speculation that it could pave the way for a future royal reconnection. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been known for their independent path since stepping back from royal duties, now have a holiday retreat in the European country that may offer new opportunities for family ties.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “I think what you say about you know the connection between the Brooksbank children and Prince Harry’s children could be very significant as the years go on because they will know their cousins as they grow up. And that could be a very nice way in.

“I have always thought that it’s very sad for Archie and Lilibet that that one day it’ll dawn on them that their cousin is going to be the King of England one day, and normally you’d really rather like to get involved with all that I would have thought, it could be a very interesting extension to life, and so that could be a wonderful route in. “I think that’s a very significant point,” he added.

The royal expert also expressed some concern about Archie and Lilibet’s potential future realizations. He reflected, “It’s very sad for Archie and Lilibet that one day it’ll dawn on them that their cousin is going to be the King of England one day, and normally you’d really rather like to get involved with all that, I would have thought.” He suggested that the children’s connection to their royal cousins could provide an “interesting extension” to their lives, offering them a unique route back into royal circles.

Vickers emphasized the significance of these relationships, noting, “That could be a wonderful route in.” His comments hint at the possibility that the Sussex children may one day embrace a closer relationship with their royal roots, despite their parents’ decision to lead a life largely separate from the monarchy.

While Meghan and Harry have built a life of their own, their new home in Portugal may open doors for their children to maintain, or even strengthen, connections with their royal cousins as they grow older. As the family dynamic continues to evolve, this move could serve as a subtle but meaningful bridge between their current independent lifestyle and their royal heritage.
