Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and longtime ally of Donald Trump, faces the potential loss of his $3.5 million Palm Beach condo as he grapples with mounting legal debts. Following a recent court order, Giuliani’s luxury Manhattan penthouse was already seized to help pay election workers he defamed in Georgia, and now his Palm Beach property, one of his few remaining assets, maybe next, CNN reports.

Giuliani is currently residing in the Palm Beach condo, making its potential forfeiture particularly impactful. According to the report, he is permitted to stay in the property but will be barred from any actions that could decrease its value while a judge determines whether his creditors can ultimately seize it. Judge Lewis Liman issued the restriction at a court hearing on Monday, underscoring the tight hold over Giuliani’s assets amid his legal and financial troubles.

The defamation suit stems from Giuliani’s role in spreading unfounded claims that election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss engaged in ballot stuffing in Atlanta during the 2020 election. As a result, Giuliani faces a $150 million judgment in favor of Freeman and Moss, whose lives were significantly affected by his baseless accusations. Once a prominent federal prosecutor, Giuliani has now been compelled to pay the price for his role in Trump’s failed election fraud litigation efforts, built largely on conspiracy theories.

Struggling with significant financial hardships, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy protection in an attempt to delay the judgment’s collection. However, the bankruptcy proceedings were recently terminated after a federal judge found that Giuliani was not complying with the financial disclosure requirements. This non-compliance prompted a judge to authorize the seizure of his assets earlier this month to satisfy the substantial debt owed to Freeman and Moss.

Amidst Giuliani’s legal battles, his daughter Caroline has publicly distanced herself from her father. Expressing dismay over what she sees as his detachment from reality, she has even endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign for the presidency, signaling a stark break from her father’s political allegiances.

As the situation continues, Giuliani’s hold on his Palm Beach condo remains uncertain, with his remaining properties and finances under court scrutiny. The case illustrates the dramatic downfall of a once high-profile political figure and the severe repercussions of his actions during and after the 2020 election.
