During an appearance on MSNBC’s Way Too Early, GOP campaign consultant Susan Del Percio suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris may soon receive high-profile endorsements from members of the Republican Party. According to Del Percio, these endorsements could deal a significant blow to Donald Trump’s campaign in the coming weeks.

Speaking with host Jonathan Lemire, Del Percio acknowledged the difficulty Republicans face in crossing party lines due to Trump’s fiercely loyal base. However, she hinted that some notable defections could be on the horizon.

“It’s not enough to say we don’t support Trump, but take the next step and say, ‘I’m voting for Harris.’ Looking at, perhaps, former President George Bush among them. What do you think?” Lemire asked Del Percio, reported Raw Story.

“I think former President Bush is a great example,” Del Percio responded. “Even though he said he won’t be endorsing, I’m not so sure, come only two to four weeks, that maybe he changes his mind.”

Del Percio emphasized that while some Republicans may hesitate to endorse Harris, high-profile figures like former President Bush could shift the tide. Despite Bush’s previous statements about staying neutral, Del Percio suggested that the political climate might prompt him to reconsider.

“But Republicans, I understand why some choose not to,” she added, acknowledging the potential risks of speaking out against Trump. “As far as elected officials who can afford a security detail, that makes sense. But when you do that and you go after former president Trump, there is a security issue for your family that is very serious.”

Del Percio’s comments highlight the complexities Republicans face in opposing Trump. While some may wish to distance themselves from the former president, the risks of alienating his base or even facing personal security threats are real concerns.

With talk of a major endorsement possibly surfacing in the next few weeks, speculation is building around which Republican figures may publicly back Harris. If such endorsements materialize, they could signal a turning point in the race, further weakening Trump’s standing and boosting Harris’s momentum heading into the election.
