Melania Trump Unfazed by Elon Musk’s Close Ties with Husband, Focuses on Her Own Interests

Melania Trump appears unfazed by the significant amount of time tech billionaire Elon Musk has been spending with her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, at their Mar-a-Lago residence, according to People magazine. Musk, a major donor to Trump’s successful 2024 presidential campaign, has become a close ally and was named co-chair of the unofficial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Mar-a-Lago has served as an informal MAGA headquarters both before and after the 2024 election. Musk has been a frequent guest, reportedly participating in phone calls with world leaders and advising on White House staffing decisions. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported that Musk was seen with Trump “nearly every single day” in the weeks following the November election.
According to sources who spoke with People, Melania views Musk’s presence as beneficial. One insider humorously remarked, “Melania is glad to have a babysitter for Donald, and she will find some kind of project to team up with him herself if he stays around.”
The source added that Melania, who largely avoids her husband’s political dealings, has “no issues” with Musk. Another source described Melania as “in good spirits” and focused on her own interests. “For the most part, she is not involved with subjects her husband is discussing with Musk or anyone else hanging around him.
Right now, Trump has a lot of people wanting things from him. She is all too aware of that,” the source said. A third insider added, “Melania is glad to have her husband busy with his work, and so far Musk is part of that mindset.”
Netizens on Facebook reacted with amusement to the news of Musk’s close involvement with Trump. “She is probably thrilled to have someone babysitting the Toddler In Chief so she doesn’t have to listen to him,” one user joked. Another quipped, “Yeah, so she doesn’t have to deal with his whining and stomping like a petulant child.”
“Hilarious. He needs a sitter. Welcome to America,” said another, while one user claimed, “Melania can’t wait for him to move to DC so she doesn’t have to deal with him at all.” As Musk continues to influence Trump’s inner circle, Melania appears content to let the tech mogul take on some of the demands of Trump’s political life, further solidifying his role in the president-elect’s orbit.
