President-elect Donald Trump’s niece, psychologist Mary Trump, has reaffirmed her commitment to opposing her uncle’s return to power, pledging to stand at the forefront of the resistance against what she describes as an authoritarian threat to American democracy. In a recent email blast, Mary Trump expressed her determination to counter her uncle’s influence, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead for those who oppose his leadership.

Mary Trump, a vocal critic of her uncle since his first presidency, has repeatedly urged Americans to recognize the seriousness of the threat she believes he poses. She also criticized the media for what she sees as an ongoing failure to fully confront Trump’s ambitions with the necessary scrutiny. “I don’t think Vice President Kamala Harris could have run a better, more professional, more inspiring campaign,” Mary Trump wrote.

“It was nearly flawless, but for many reasons rooted in our dark and desperate and unacknowledged history, too many people refused to buy into her message of hope and unity.” In her message, Mary Trump lamented that a significant number of Americans seemed drawn to what her uncle had to offer, a pull she described as potentially harmful to those who embraced it, as per reports Newsweek.

“Too many people want what Donald Trump has to offer them. It will not serve them well,” she asserted. Her disappointment extended to those who had tirelessly fought to prevent his return, including herself, as she warned that the outcome would hit hardest for those most vulnerable. “As always, in times of great upheaval, it will be worst for the most vulnerable among us.”

Reflecting on her own emotional state post-election, Mary Trump admitted to feeling “numbness” and a profound sense of “exquisite detachment” as she processed the results. “I really did think we were better than this, and I don’t want to confront the feelings associated with recognizing just how wrong I was,” she confessed. However, Mary Trump assured her supporters that this temporary detachment would soon pass, and when it did, she would be prepared to continue the fight.

“I’m not going anywhere,” she wrote with conviction. “The Good in Us and Mary Trump Media will be here for the duration. I had hoped we would wake up today with a new mission to keep pressure on [a] new Democratic administration to do everything in its power to strengthen our democracy instead of constantly fighting a rear-guard action against encroaching fascism. Instead, the fascism is here and we have to confront it head-on.”

Mary Trump expressed her resolve to lead in this battle for democratic values and to resist what she sees as a slide toward tyranny under her uncle’s leadership. Her objective, she stated, “is to be at the leading edge of the fight against the tyranny that will soon engulf what once was the world’s greatest democracy.”

Signing off with a powerful commitment, Mary Trump pledged her loyalty to her supporters and to the truth. “I pledge my unwavering allegiance to you and to the truth. I will do my best to look squarely in the face of — and guard against — the horrors we will be facing.” With these words, Mary Trump cemented her place in the opposition to what she describes as a growing authoritarian threat, leaving little doubt that she intends to be a prominent voice in the struggle for democracy.
