On the fourth anniversary of the Capitol riot, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) lashed out at reporters and their coverage of the events surrounding January 6, 2021. Speaking to Beau Davidson on Real America’s Voice, Greene criticized what she called “stupid questions” from journalists and called for accountability from both the media and members of the January 6 committee.

“I’ve already dealt with all the stupid questions from the leftists and the activists and the media that are trying to constantly talk about, you know, January 6th and falsely call it an insurrection!” Greene said. “It was not an insurrection! It was a resurrection!”

She continued by insisting that those responsible for investigating and reporting on the event should face consequences. “It’s time for those people to be held accountable, as well as the members of Congress that served on the January 6th committee,” Greene declared. “So I look very much forward to that happening.”

Reflecting on her interactions with reporters, Greene shared some of the questions she encountered. “I got asked about the police officers that were attacked,” she said. “I got asked about how Democrats’ feelings were hurting today after January 6th from four years ago.”

Greene used the opportunity to pivot the conversation toward Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa protests. “I reminded every single one of them about night after night riots by BLM and Antifa, and how many of those police officers were attacked, and over 95 percent of those BLM and Antifa rioters’ charges were dropped, and they never served a single day in jail,” she argued.

Greene criticized what she described as selective outrage by Democrats. “So I also asked them how many of those Democrats are feeling sorry and have their feelings hurt for those police officers, as well,” she said. Unmoved by the scrutiny, Greene dismissed the criticism of her stance on January 6.

“They can continue to feign their outrage, but I could care less about a single bit of it, because today was a great day,” she concluded. Greene’s comments illustrate the ongoing partisan divide over the legacy of January 6 and its portrayal in the media. Her remarks also underscore her commitment to reframing the narrative around the Capitol riot and its aftermath.
