Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s boyfriend, Brian Glenn, has come under fire after admitting he asks “soft” questions to President Donald Trump, a strategy he defended in a new interview with The Times published on Friday, April 25.
Glenn, who serves as Real America’s Voice’s chief White House correspondent, explained that his role as a conservative journalist is to highlight the achievements of Trump, particularly when mainstream outlets, which he refers to as “legacy” media, focus on harsher questioning.

“My job as a conservative journalist is to ask questions that highlight the good things that he’s doing for this country that a lot of the media outlets there simply won’t ask,” Glenn said. His approach was on full display during a tense Oval Office meeting in February when he confronted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his attire, according to Politico’s Playbook.
Glenn asked Zelensky, “Why don’t you wear a suit? You’re at the highest level in this country’s office, and you refuse to wear a suit. Do you own a suit?” He added, “A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of this office.”
Days later on Real America’s Voice, Glenn defended his line of questioning, saying, “sometimes you can judge a book by its cover,” and argued that Zelensky’s casual wardrobe “reflected his attitude.” He elaborated in The Times, saying, “That question was meant to really see how much respect he had for this country and the American people for funding his war.”

Rep. Greene voiced her support for Glenn’s pointed questioning on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I’m so proud of @briantv for pointing out that Zelensky has so much disrespect for America that he can’t even wear a suit in the Oval Office when he comes to beg for money from our President!!”
Glenn and Greene’s relationship first made headlines in October 2022 when the Daily Mail photographed the pair together in Rome, Georgia. Initially, they insisted their connection was professional, with Glenn reportedly working on a documentary about Greene. However, Greene later confirmed their romance in an interview with Semafor, calling Glenn “a great resource” for handling media attention.

“He’s from the industry, so he is a great resource. He’s explained a lot, like how things work, and yeah, it’s great. So maybe I’m falling in love with the press,” Greene said. Glenn’s recent admission sparked a backlash online. Critics quickly flooded social media with harsh comments.
One user wrote, “That’s not journalism…that’s sucking up,” while another mocked, “You mean brilliant questions like ‘Why aren’t you wearing a suit?’ You are a clown.” Other responses were equally biting, including, “You are a special kind of stupid, aren’t you, Cowboy?” and, “That’s not journalism, that’s propaganda.”
