President Donald Trump has reportedly dismissed at least three senior National Security Council (NSC) officials following a controversial Oval Office meeting with far-right activist Laura Loomer, according to reports from Mediaite, The New York Times, and NBC News. The firings, which occurred this week, have raised eyebrows across Washington, especially given Loomer’s vocal history of attacking members of the administration on social media.
According to The New York Times, Loomer arrived at the White House on April 2 carrying a stack of opposition research documents targeting several NSC officials. Sources revealed that she used the meeting to question the loyalty and character of multiple staffers, pressing Trump to fire them. Although the exact names Loomer mentioned have not been confirmed, three officials were subsequently let go: Brian Walsh, Thomas Boodry, and David Feith.
Walsh previously served as a top aide to Senator Marco Rubio on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Boodry was a legislative director for current National Security Adviser Michael Waltz during his time in Congress, and Feith held a position in the State Department during Trump’s first term.
Present at the Oval Office meeting were Trump, Loomer, Vice President JD Vance, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, Deputy NSA Alex Wong, and Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), a member of the House Freedom Caucus. Sources say that while Loomer urged Trump to dismiss the officials, Waltz defended them, particularly in light of recent scrutiny he faced over creating a Signal messaging group for discussing a military strike in Yemen — a group in which he mistakenly included a journalist.
JD Vance confirmed the firings during a Thursday appearance on Newsmax, but did not confirm Loomer’s involvement, stating, “The president just decided those folks there, they can be good people, but that they weren’t helping his agenda. So he’s going to hire the people who do.”

Loomer, meanwhile, released a statement confirming her presence at the meeting:
“It was an honor to meet with President Trump and present him with my findings. I will continue working hard to support his agenda, and I will continue reiterating the importance of strong vetting, for the sake of protecting the President and our national security.”
On X, Loomer doubled down, claiming she “reported” officials she viewed as “disloyal,” saying, “You know how you know the NSC officials I reported to President Trump are disloyal people who have played a role in sabotaging Donald Trump?”
While she declined to share more details about her Oval Office meeting, her influence appears to have had immediate and dramatic consequences for the Trump White House.
