Karoline Leavitt’s Cheerful Trump Post Turns Ugly as Social Media Explodes

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sparked a social media firestorm after posting a cheerful photo alongside President Donald Trump, only to be met with fierce backlash and scathing comments online. On Thursday, April 24, the 27-year-old press secretary took to Instagram to share a smiling snapshot of herself walking beside Trump as the pair made their way to speak with reporters outside the White House.

Dressed in a checkered beige-and-pink dress paired with nude heels, Leavitt appeared upbeat and confident. She captioned the post: “Walk and talk with POTUS to start the day.” While the post may have been intended to showcase unity and professionalism, it quickly became a lightning rod for criticism.

In the comments section, users unloaded a wave of scorn, with one user writing, “Clown and Nazi Barbie.” Another added, “Oh look, it’s Bimbo Barbie and the Felon! Just another day in Hell!” The insults continued to pour in, with one person mocking the former president as “the Orange Orangutan” and another sarcastically asking, “Hello nazi! How does it feel to be the laughing stock of the world? :)”

Others took a more poetic jab at the caption, offering reworded versions like: “Red tie and lie, food booth and not tell the truth, eating ribs and telling fibs, ruining the nation with misinformation.” Beneath the personal insults were also politically charged criticisms of the Trump administration’s recent policies.

One user listed a range of grievances, writing, “Garnishing wages from people in student loan default, raising the cost of living through tariffs, allowing measles to spread like it’s the Oregon Trail, offering virtually no paid family leave or universal childcare—and then telling people you’ll give them $5,000 to have a baby—is Marie-Antoinette-level out of touch.”

This post marks yet another flashpoint in Karoline Leavitt’s controversial tenure as Trump’s press secretary. Since joining the team, she has come under fire for a string of polarizing statements and alleged evasions. Most recently, Leavitt was accused of avoiding questions about a Pentagon group chat scandal, staging a “North Korea propaganda stunt,” and misleading the public by describing Trump’s tariff policies as a “tax cut” for Americans.

While Leavitt’s post may have been intended as a light-hearted behind-the-scenes glimpse into her role alongside the former president, the online reaction shows just how sharply divided public opinion remains in today’s political climate. What was meant to be a simple “walk and talk” quickly became a flashpoint of digital outrage.
