Karoline Leavitt Faces Backlash for Allegedly Misleading Claims on Egg and Gas Prices in ‘MAGA Minute’

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has sparked controversy after her latest “MAGA Minute,” with critics accusing her of spreading “lies and propaganda.” The weekly segment, intended to highlight achievements from President Donald Trump’s administration, faced intense scrutiny from social media users questioning its accuracy.

“It was another very busy week here at the Trump White House. Here are the facts,” began Leavitt confidently in the short video. She noted the invocation of the Alien Enemies Act, stating, “President Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act to deport illegal migrant foreign terrorists and Tren De Aragua members to El Salvador.”

Leavitt highlighted significant military actions as well, asserting, “President Trump also launched decisive and powerful military action against Houthi terrorist bases in Yemen.” Shifting to economic advancements, she claimed, “Companies like Boeing, Johnson & Johnson, and Nvidia announced billions of dollars in new investments in America which will bring thousands of new jobs to communities like yours across the country.”

The press secretary also mentioned controversial policy moves such as the dismantling of a federal agency. “The president signed an executive order aimed at dismantling the Department of Education after decades of declining academic performance despite trillions of dollars being spent,” she stated, as reported by The Mirror.

Leavitt addressed sensitive recent events, remarking, “NASA astronauts who were abandoned by the Biden administration were finally brought home safely thanks to President Trump and Elon Musk.” She continued, “President Trump also delivered on his promise to release the JFK files with no redactions.”

Concluding with economic relief claims, Leavitt announced, “Egg prices have officially fallen more than 50% since President Trump took office. Gas prices have declined nationally for the fourth straight week in a row.”

However, the segment was met with significant skepticism online. Social media users responded negatively, questioning the accuracy of Leavitt’s claims. One user remarked, “Oh, you are such a terrible liar,” while another criticized the White House directly, “Every day the White House becomes more and more nauseating.”

“Gas just jumped 60 cents in the last two days, what are you talking about?” challenged another commenter. Several others echoed doubts, calling the update “propaganda” and sarcastically labeling it as containing “alternative facts.” Leavitt’s claims continue to stir debate, with public opinion sharply divided over the truthfulness and intent of the “MAGA Minute.”
