A viral TikTok montage featuring former Vice President Kamala Harris has resurfaced, warning of the consequences of a second Donald Trump presidency. The clips, originally from Harris’ 2024 campaign for the White House, have reignited discussions about Trump’s policies and their potential impact on the nation, according to HuffPost.
In the montage, Harris outlines concerns that Trump’s plans would increase costs and dismantle the Department of Education, aligning with the goals of Project 2025, a conservative policy agenda. A segment from her October 2024 CBS Evening News interview with Norah O’Donnell captures Harris’ skepticism about Trump’s denials regarding his connection to Project 2025.

“The former president said that’s not true,” O’Donnell stated. Harris responded, “He says everything’s not true.” During her campaign, Harris also sounded the alarm about Republican plans to eliminate the Department of Education, a move supported by Education Secretary Linda McMahon. In March, a cryptic email ordered the closure of multiple department offices across the U.S., raising further concerns.
The montage also included Harris’ warnings about Trump’s potential cuts to Medicaid. A March report from the Congressional Budget Office found that Republican budget goals would require cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from government health programs. Democratic budget analyst Bobby Kogan told HuffPost, “This is an instruction to take health coverage away from people.”
Despite his repeated denials during the 2024 campaign, Trump nominated Project 2025 co-author Russell Vought as director of the Office of Management and Budget in November 2024. A Time report from January detailed how Trump’s early actions in office—ranging from deregulation to aggressive immigration policies—closely mirrored Project 2025.
While the viral video underscores Harris’ warnings, insiders within the Democratic Party have been less than enthusiastic about her recent visibility. Some party members have criticized her as being “MIA” (missing in action), arguing that her leadership style is inadequate for the current political landscape. “She’s MIA,” one frustrated insider told Page Six, taking aim at both Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, for positioning her as the leader of the Democratic Party.

“The person you just spent $2 billion on trying to elect? I’m glad she’s having a good time going to a musical and being repped by CAA. But this whole strategy of ‘do not do anything or say anything’—that’s not the kind of leadership the world needs right now.”
Another Democratic source compared Harris to California Governor Gavin Newsom, praising him for staying active in politics. “At least he’s out there doing stuff.” Regarding Harris’ approach, the source added, “It shows how kind of old the thinking is. Like, ‘Well, I’m not going to run [for governor] for a year and a half, so I’ll go away.’”
As debates over leadership within the Democratic Party continue, the viral video has reignited scrutiny of Harris’ role in shaping the party’s future and responding to the challenges of a Trump administration.
