“I Don’t Care,” Joe Scarborough Brushes Off Lauren Boebert’s Comments on DOJ and Trump

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough wasted no time dismissing remarks made by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on Thursday morning, during a segment discussing Donald Trump’s use of the Department of Justice to target his political opponents. Scarborough’s quick reaction came after co-host Mika Brzezinski began to report on Boebert’s comments, which had followed controversial remarks from House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY).

Boebert, while discussing political imprisonments, told reporters, “It’s not looking good for them. You know, they’re asking for their preemptive pardon. So it kind of sounds suspect and guilty. I think anybody who has politically imprisoned American citizens and completely ruined their lives needs to be investigated.” However, Scarborough was having none of it.

“Alright, alright, I don’t care,” Scarborough interjected, cutting off Brzezinski as she mentioned the Colorado Republican’s name. His blunt dismissal sent the panel into laughter, and Scarborough continued by jokingly referencing Boebert’s past controversy involving a “Beetlejuice” theater scandal. “Go see a play,” he quipped, which only led to more laughter from the panel.

This lighthearted moment followed an earlier segment where Brzezinski reported on comments from James Comer, who had suggested that politicians who use congressional committees to “lie and try to set people up” should be held accountable. Scarborough had also criticized Comer’s remarks, which further added fuel to the discussion on the controversial use of political power.

While Boebert’s comments stirred controversy, Scarborough’s quick dismissal showed his indifference toward her stance. The exchange added a bit of levity to the tense political discussions of the morning, as Scarborough’s sharp wit and humor contrasted with the more serious topics at hand.
