John Oliver Roasts Donald & Melania Trump’s Relationship While Exposing ICE Deportation Crackdown

John Oliver didn’t hold back on the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, taking jabs at both President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump while discussing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the administration’s aggressive deportation policies.

During the show, Oliver mocked a Valentine’s Day post shared by the White House, which read, “Roses are red, violets are blue, come here illegally, and we’ll deport you.”

“The White House’s actual Valentine’s Day tweet read, ‘Roses are red, violets are blue, come here illegally and we’ll deport you,’” Oliver quipped. “Though I guess that’s exactly the kind of romance you’d expect from the house occupied by this loving couple.”

His comments come amid increasing speculation about the state of Donald and Melania Trump’s marriage. Over the years, body language experts have pointed to signs of “a level of discomfort or awkwardness” between the pair. Prolific Trump biographer Michael Wolff fueled further intrigue in his book, All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America, in which he claimed, citing an inside source, that Melania “f***ing hates him.”

Wolff also questioned Melania’s 18-month absence from public events leading up to the Republican National Convention in July 2024. “In some sense, this is the darkest Trump hole. Nobody knows the answer to the what-about-Melania question. Not even the people closest to him,” Wolff wrote, as reported by The Irish Star.

“What is the nature of their marriage? Nobody can tell you,” he continued. “Nobody can tell you where Melania even actually lives. It may be, on its own peculiar terms, the most successful marriage in America. Or, it may be ready to blow up at any moment.”

Returning to his sharp critique of Trump’s policies, Oliver didn’t mince words about the state of the federal government. “At the federal level, honestly, for the next few years we’re f*****,” he stated bluntly, as reported by The Guardian.

“Trump’s government is clearly going to do everything in its power to act as callously as possible in the next four years,” Oliver continued. The comedian urged viewers to push back against the administration’s approach to immigration.

“We’re gonna have to find ways to push back hard at the state and local level at those determined to score political points at the expense of an incredibly vulnerable population,” he said. Oliver’s remarks reflect growing concerns over Trump’s hardline stance on immigration and the broader implications for marginalized communities under his leadership.
