Far-right podcaster Dan Bongino has taken on a new role as the FBI’s deputy director, yet he has no plans to step away from his conspiracy-laden show or his lucrative sponsorship deals—at least, not just yet. Bongino, a former U.S. Secret Service agent turned pro-MAGA media figure, was recently appointed by President Donald Trump as the second-in-command at the FBI.
Despite this high-ranking position, he confirmed that he will continue hosting his podcast until March 14, according to a report by MotherJones on Thursday. Bongino has built a significant following by endorsing a variety of products, ranging from “the country’s only Christian wireless provider” to an online pharmacy offering “ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, emergency antibiotics, or other essential medications,” as reported by MotherJones.

And he has no immediate plans to change course. “We can’t just walk away tomorrow from business partners we had contracts with and say, ‘Hey, see ya,’” Bongino explained on his show, one day after accepting the FBI position.
Even as he delivered an impassioned explanation for his decision to join the FBI—stating that he couldn’t “sit on my a– when an opportunity comes to do the right thing”—he seamlessly transitioned into an endorsement, saying, “the company I trust to help you diversify into physical gold is Birch Gold,” MotherJones highlighted.
The podcaster’s continued promotion of certain brands has raised eyebrows, especially given his new role in law enforcement. This week, Bongino shared a message warning about government surveillance, an unusual stance considering his own position.

“Big Brother is watching you,” Bongino warned his audience. He referenced the National Security Agency’s history of surveillance, adding, “Well, what if I told you there’s a way to get your freedom back?” before promoting ExpressVPN. “Thankfully, there is. It’s a product called ExpressVPN [which] routes 100 percent of internet activity through encrypted channels… So if you want to protect yourself from corporate and government spying, go to expressvpn.com/Bongino and get four extra months of privacy for free.”
Adding to the complexity of his new role, Bongino recently introduced a “new production company,” which will be run by his wife, the longtime producer of his podcast. He assured listeners that federal ethics rules would be followed: “It’s going to be divorced from me.”

However, ethics experts have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest. “Federal law bars government employees from working on government matters affecting their own personal financial interests, which include the interests of a spouse,” MotherJones noted.
Kedric Payne, ethics director at the Campaign Legal Center, a watchdog group, underscored the potential implications. “The bottom line is public officials should be looking out for the interests of voters, not their own financial interests,” Payne told the publication, warning that Bongino’s media company could pose ethics issues and erode public trust in the FBI.
