Alvin Bragg’s Office Suffers Big Loss in Case Against Donald Trump

New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan has blocked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s attempt to gain access to emails between former first lady Melania Trump and ex-Trump executive assistant Rhona Graff, as reported by CBS News. Judge Merchan deemed the subpoena excessively wide-ranging.

Merchan also prohibited Bragg’s subpoena for correspondences between White House officials and Trump Organization staff, over two years of ex-President Trump’s travel schedules, and emails from Graff to Keith Schiller, the former director of Oval Office operations.

Merchan claimed that Bragg’s endeavor to scrutinize Melania Trump’s emails would produce an excess of pertinent records. However, the judge did not obstruct Bragg’s subpoena for the complete, video-recorded deposition Trump delivered in the federal lawsuit by ex-advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of rape and defamation. Merchant stated that a federal judge would make the final decision on this matter.

According to The New York Times, the former first lady has retreated to a more private life. Former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway suggested that Melania Trump is “all in” on her husband’s campaign, characterizing her as the ex-president’s “most trusted and transparent adviser.” Kate Andersen Brower, author of “First Women: The Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies,” indicated that Melania Trump is content living by her own rules.

The ex-president revealed in a recent interview that it has been challenging to inform his wife about the charges against him.
