“Someone Is Trying to Break In”: Joe Burrow’s $7.5M Home Burgled During Monday Night Game
Burglars broke into Joe Burrow’s $7.5 million mansion in Anderson Township, a Cincinnati suburb, while he was leading the Bengals to victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, December 9. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the break-in to local outlet WLWT Cincinnati.
Reports revealed that a window in a bedroom had been shattered and the room ransacked by intruders. A woman staying at Burrow’s residence made a frantic 911 call during the incident. In the released recording, the caller, who identified herself as the mother of someone in the home, said, “Someone is trying to break into the house right now.”
She added, “My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game.” Her daughter, also at the residence, later called 911 herself. “Someone broke into my house. It’s like completely messed up,” she told dispatchers, according to Daily Mail.
An off-duty officer assigned to Burrow’s security detail confirmed the broken windows to authorities, though the identity of the woman staying in the house remains unclear. Burrow has been in a long-term relationship with Olivia Holzmacher, whom he met while attending Ohio State University.
The break-in follows a troubling trend of NFL players being targeted by organized burglary groups. The NFL recently issued a security alert, warning teams and the NFL Players Association of a rise in athlete-related burglaries. Notable incidents included break-ins at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Joe Burrow purchased the 7,300-square-foot mansion, which sits on three acres overlooking the Ohio River, in late 2023. The property boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an array of luxury amenities. While the burglary unfolded, Burrow delivered an impressive on-field performance, completing 33 of 44 passes for 369 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
His game-winning drive, assisted by a muffed punt from the Cowboys, secured a crucial 27-20 victory for the Bengals. Despite the win, Cincinnati remains on shaky ground with a 5-8 record, on the brink of playoff elimination. The Bengals are set to face the Tennessee Titans in their next matchup.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the break-in as the NFL’s concerns over player safety intensify. Meanwhile, Burrow’s standout night on the field was overshadowed by the unsettling events at his home.
