EVANSVILLE, Wis. — Three individuals are in custody following the death of 14-year-old Florencia Henthorn, who was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound inside an Evansville home Sunday morning. “She just loved everybody. Her family and friends meant everything to her,” said Natalia Lema, the victim’s grieving mother.
Florencia’s life was cut short just one month before her 15th birthday. “She was looking forward to it because that was her quinceañera,” Lema shared. The teen’s parents recalled their last conversation with her the morning of her death. “She didn’t sound scared, mad, angry, or sad. Nothing. She sounded normal. I asked her if she was safe. She said, ‘Yes, of course. I’m good,” Lema said.

Florencia’s father, Jeremiah Henthorn, added, “If she ever felt scared or anything, she would call me. She never called me.” On Tuesday, authorities arrested 26-year-old Hunter Drefahl, 20-year-old Alyssa Ahrens, and 44-year-old William Drefahl in connection with the case.
Hunter Drefahl faces nine charges, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor causing death, possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child, child enticement, and second-degree sexual assault of a child. The girl was later identified by an immediate family member as Florencia Henthorn. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family.
Ahrens is charged with eight counts, including contributing to a minor’s death, possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation, child enticement, sexual assault of a child, and methamphetamine possession. William Drefahl was arrested for a probation violation.
Lema expressed shock over her daughter’s association with the suspects. “She never told me anything at all in relation to the girl or the guy that was there,” she said. According to a criminal complaint obtained by News 3 Now, Florencia had been staying with Hunter Drefahl for about a week before her death.
The complaint reveals that an argument erupted prior to the shooting over the alleged sale of sexual videos involving Drefahl, Ahrens, and the 14-year-old victim. Drefahl and Ahrens provided conflicting accounts of the incident. Lema said her daughter was usually open about her whereabouts.

“She was pretty open with us and would, for the most part, tell us at least who she was with. She never told us about these people.” Florencia’s parents described her as a bright, outgoing girl who fiercely protected those she loved. “She was known for always trying to make everybody feel included and not feel left out,” Lema said.
Instead of preparing for her quinceañera, her family now mourns the loss of a life full of promise. “She wanted the big dress… She was looking forward to that,” her mother said tearfully. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Florencia’s death as the community grapples with the tragedy.
