Whoopi Goldberg: ‘Everybody’s gonna die at some point’

Whoopi Goldberg recently shared her thoughts on the importance of discussing mortality and making preparations for the inevitable.

On July 25, during an episode of The View, Whoopi addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of making a will. “You know, first of all, everybody in this audience, it’s a tough conversation to have: Make a will. Make a will,” she urged.

“Do not wait until you die,” remarked the 68-year-old. The Sister Act star continued, “You’re leaving people in pain at your loss and trying to figure out what you wanted, so tell people what you want before your demise.”

“The truth is: Everybody’s gonna die at some point,” she declared, adding, “Don’t leave it for your kids to deal with.” Joy Behar chimed in, saying, “Not me.” To which Whoopi responded, “Don’t even say stuff like that.”

During the show, the Oscar-winning actress also criticized J.D. Vance over his remarks about “childless cat ladies.” She said, “You never had a baby; your wife had a baby. And how dare you. And women, you heard how he thinks of you. This is not good for you, JD.”

For context, in a 2021 interview with Fox News, J.D. Vance told Tucker Carlson that the US is effectively run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies,” mentioning several Democratic lawmakers, including Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Goldberg’s comments highlight her concerns about the societal and personal implications of ignoring important end-of-life preparations and the disrespectful attitudes towards women expressed by public figures like Vance.
