Vanilla Ice Brings Nostalgia with ’90s Hits at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve Celebration

The New Year’s Eve celebration at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida featured a special performance by ’90s rapper Vanilla Ice. Known for his hit “Ice Ice Baby,” Vanilla Ice, real name Rob Van Winkle, brought a nostalgic vibe to the event, complete with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle from the era. Videos circulating online show Trump enjoying the performance, which also included an Elvis impersonator.

The event caught significant attention on social media, with #VanillaIce trending on New Year’s Day. Donald Trump Jr. shared his excitement in a Facebook live video, expressing his thrill at the performance and even receiving a birthday shoutout from Vanilla Ice. “As a child of the 90s, you can’t fathom how awesome that is,” he commented.

In addition to the musical performances, Trump addressed the gathering, making light-hearted remarks about Mar-a-Lago members and discussing politics, including the upcoming Iowa GOP caucuses. He expressed optimism about the future, despite his critical view of the country’s current state.

Last month, Vanilla Ice made headlines by claiming connections with 2Pac and Pablo Escobar. Meanwhile, on a different note, the band Green Day stirred controversy during their performance on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” They altered the lyrics of their 2004 hit “American Idiot” to reflect a stance against Trump’s MAGA agenda, inciting mixed reactions from viewers, with Trump supporters expressing outrage and others applauding the move.
