In a preview for Special Forces released on November 27, Kayla broke down in tears as she opened up about the challenges of moving on. “Going through a public breakup,” she shared, “It’s been overwhelming.”
When fellow contestant Alana Blanchard asked who her ex was, Kayla quietly replied, “Travis Kelce.” The model admitted that Kelce’s new relationship with the global pop icon has made the healing process even more difficult, particularly due to the intense scrutiny and backlash she’s faced online. During an October episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast, Kayla reflected on the negative impact of social media.
“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just online chaos doesn’t impact me,” Kayla said, acknowledging how painful it is to see hateful comments about her. “You could go to my most recent post, and it’ll be people debating why I’m worthless and how I’ll never be a talented person.”
Despite the criticism, Kayla has worked on finding peace and redefining her self-worth. She described the online vitriol as unwarranted, especially given her minimal public engagement with Kelce’s rising stardom and his relationship with Swift.
“I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people,” she said, adding, “And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”
