Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce surprised fans by revealing his unexpected love for the iconic teen drama Gossip Girl during the September 25 episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.

“I used to not tell everybody that I watched Gossip Girl growing up,” Travis, 34, confessed. His brother Jason, 36, seemed caught off guard by the admission, asking, “You watched Gossip Girl?” But Travis didn’t hesitate to double down on his affection for the show. “It’s so good… Dude, if you watched it, you could get in deep,” he said, clearly enthusiastic about the series, told Page Six.

Jason then tried to clarify, joking, “Are you talking about Gilmore Girls?” But Travis quickly corrected him, confidently stating, “No, Gossip Girl! Chace Crawford, Blake Lively,” name-dropping two of the show’s stars.

Blake Lively, who played Serena van der Woodsen in the hit series, has a notable connection to Travis’s personal life. She is close friends with his rumored girlfriend, global pop icon Taylor Swift. Recently, Travis and Taylor were spotted spending time with Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, during a gathering at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion.

The timing of Travis’s Gossip Girl confession also comes amidst a wave of controversy surrounding Blake Lively. The actress has faced public backlash over her involvement in promoting It Ends With Us, a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel. Lively’s casting and her rumored feud with co-star Justin Baldoni have been a hot topic, though the actress has remained mostly quiet on the matter, choosing instead to spend time with friends and family.

Despite the drama surrounding Blake, Travis’s lighthearted discussion about Gossip Girl brought a refreshing and unexpected glimpse into his personal life, revealing that even an NFL superstar has a soft spot for classic teen TV dramas.
