Thalia Graves Opens Up About Trauma from Alleged Assault by Sean “Diddy” Combs
Thalia Graves, the latest woman to accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of assault, shared an emotional account of her suffering during a press conference on Tuesday, September 24. Speaking publicly for the first time since coming forward, Graves opened up about the long-lasting impact the alleged 2001 attack has had on her mental and emotional well-being.
“I have PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I’m emotionally scarred,” Graves revealed during the conference, which was covered by The New York Post. Wiping away tears, she continued, “It has been hard for me to trust others, form healthy relationships, or even feel safe in my own skin. Flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts make me feel like it’s a constant struggle.”
The 2001 assault, according to Graves, has left a deep and lasting mark on her life, affecting her ability to move forward. “It’s a pain that goes to the very core of who you are, leaving emotional scars that may never fully heal,” she explained, visibly shaken as she detailed the emotional toll the alleged attack has taken over the years.
Ongoing Struggles with Mental Health
Graves expressed that the shame and guilt stemming from the incident have become a significant part of her daily life, impacting her mental health and overall ability to function. “Some of the hardest parts of this pain are the shame and the guilt I have experienced, which play a negative part in my day-to-day ability to function properly,” she said.
As she spoke about her ongoing struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety, Graves emphasized the heavy emotional burden she continues to carry. Despite her bravery in coming forward, she noted that the pain is something she fears will never truly fade.
A Temporary Relief
Graves also addressed Combs’ legal troubles, sharing mixed emotions about his current imprisonment. While she expressed a sense of relief, she was quick to acknowledge that it is only a temporary reprieve from the overwhelming trauma she still faces.
“I’m glad that he’s in prison,” Graves admitted, as her lawyer Gloria Allred sat beside her. “But it’s just a temporary feeling of relief.” Allred, who is representing Graves, remained supportive throughout the press conference, as Graves shed light on the ongoing emotional battle she endures every day.
The Fight for Justice
Graves’ brave decision to come forward reflects the ongoing struggle for justice many survivors face. While legal proceedings continue, Graves’ story adds to the growing list of allegations against Combs, highlighting the deep emotional scars left by such experiences. As the case unfolds, Graves hopes her testimony will not only serve as a step toward justice but also as a message to other survivors who might feel alone in their pain.
