Cardi B is facing backlash after gossip blogger Tasha K accused her of “sabotaging” her career and contributing to her ongoing bankruptcy case. The defamation lawsuit that resulted in Cardi B being awarded $3.4 million in 2022 has once again come into the spotlight, as Tasha K claims the rapper is attempting to undermine her financially.

In legal documents shared by TMZ on January 7, Tasha K revealed that Cardi B was trying to “bully her financially” by exposing her alleged offshore trust accounts in the Cook Islands, Nevis, and Georgia. Tasha K also stated that Cardi B was attempting to impose a broad restriction on her ability to speak freely on her blogs and social media as part of any settlement agreement regarding the debt.

Meanwhile, Cardi B’s legal team is pushing back in Florida Bankruptcy Court, where they filed documents in December 2024. The rapper accused Tasha K of “fraudulently transferring assets and income” out of her name and into the name of her husband, Cheickna Kebe, and his business.

Cardi B’s team further argued that Tasha K is still “living a life in luxury,” pointing out her $7,000-per-month apartment. In response, Cardi B is seeking to have Tasha K’s bankruptcy case dismissed and to prevent her from refiling for two years.

For context, Tasha K previously told the court she had less than $60,000 in assets and only $95 in her bank account. Despite these claims, Tasha K boasted about selling out VIP tables for her New Year’s Eve celebration, which was attended by 400 fans at the Bayou City Event Center in Houston.

Tasha K’s history of legal battles is also notable, as she has been sued for defamation by public figures like Kevin Hart, R. Kelly, Soulja Boy, and Bishop Lamor Whitehead (whose case was dismissed last August).

Amid this drama, Cardi B is focusing on her music career. She recently shared on Instagram Live that her highly anticipated sophomore album—following the success of her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy—is a top priority for her. “January is very, very important, and I have a mission to complete. If I don’t, it’s gonna mess up the whole schedule for this year,” Cardi B stated, indicating that her music goals are at the forefront of her current plans.
