Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have reportedly ended their romance after nearly a year of dating. An insider revealed to People magazine that the couple, who had been relatively private about their relationship, decided to part ways due to their busy careers.

“They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” the source said. Speculation about their relationship first began in December 2023 when the pair was seen dining together in Los Angeles. In the months that followed, the 32-year-old Irish actor attended Sabrina’s concert in April and even made an appearance in her “Please Please Please” music video.

Despite these public moments, the couple never officially confirmed their romance. When Sabrina was asked about her relationship status with Barry during a Rolling Stone interview, she danced around the question, reflecting her typically private approach to her personal life.

“How do I skirt around this question?” she responded, before adding, “The [dating] pool is the pool, and when you meet people that feel authentic and are so brilliant and amazing in every way, that’s what you do.”

She also addressed the inevitable speculation surrounding her love life, especially since she writes songs about her feelings. “Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be so surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about. That’s something that comes with the territory,” she said.

Despite the breakup, both Sabrina and Barry remain focused on their individual careers, with Sabrina continuing to work on her music and acting projects and Barry staying busy in the film industry. Fans of the couple are left to wonder if the separation is truly a “break” or if their paths will diverge for good.
