Nicole Kidman Reflects on Her Deep Connection with Keith Urban
In a heartfelt discussion with People magazine, Nicole Kidman opened up about her enduring relationship with country singer Keith Urban, emphasizing how their bond has grown stronger over time. The couple, who first crossed paths at a Los Angeles event in 2005 and tied the knot a little over a year later, continue to share a profound commitment to each other.
Living in Nashville with their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13, Kidman recounted the early days of their romance, which quickly deepened after a memorable birthday gesture from Urban. “It was my [38th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5 am on my stoop in New York,” Kidman reminisced. “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.'” She described that period as “pretty intense,” quickly realizing that Urban was “the one.”
Kidman, an Oscar-winning actress, attributed her certainty about Urban to her romantic nature, her profession, and her strong faith. She expressed her deep love for Urban, calling him her “deep, deep love.”
The couple celebrated their union with a romantic wedding in Australia and have been mindful to spend as little time apart as possible over the past 18 years. Despite their demanding careers, Kidman and Urban make their family a priority, ensuring that they balance their professional obligations with their roles as parents.
Kidman shared her approach to life, saying, “I remember talking to somebody once and they asked, ‘What do you do?’ I said, ‘Well, primarily I have my family, I raise my kids, and I work.'” She highlighted the joy of raising two lovely daughters and the stability Urban provides. “That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back,” she added.
Last summer, to commemorate their 17th wedding anniversary, Kidman shared a touching black-and-white photo of the couple, capturing the essence of their enduring love.
