Megyn Kelly Launches Personal Attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins: ‘Try Smiling’

Right-wing talk radio host Megyn Kelly took aim at CNN correspondent and anchor Kaitlan Collins during her SiriusXM show this week, launching a personal and charged attack on Collins’s character and personality.
Kelly’s comments were sparked by Collins’s recent defense of her network’s coverage on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, where Collins described CNN as a network that provides “fair” coverage and is a place “both sides can watch.” Kelly, however, strongly disagreed with this characterization.
“I will submit to the record, her biggest sin is not that she is biased, though she is. It’s that she’s boring. She’s extremely boring with no personality,” Kelly said during her show. “I have a pro tip for her: Smile. Try smiling. Try not to be in your delivery like such a cold-hearted b—- all the time, because it gives people nothing to bond to.”
Kaitlan Collins, a native of Alabama, began her journalism career as a reporter for the far-right Daily Caller before joining CNN, where she has established herself as a tough correspondent known for fact-checking allies of former President Donald Trump in real-time, told Daily Mail.
Megyn Kelly, who previously worked at Fox News and hosted a show on NBC, has a history of controversial statements. She was fired from NBC in 2018 after suggesting that Blackface could be acceptable as part of a Halloween costume. Since then, Kelly has continued to court controversy, most recently for suggesting in a post on X that Vice President Kamala Harris advanced her political career through inappropriate means.
“She actually did sleep her way into and upwards in California politics and most women (and men) may learn that and see it for what it is: evidence of an unqualified political aspirant getting ahead based on something other than merit. It’s relevant, and fair game,” Kelly posted, drawing significant backlash.
Kelly’s latest remarks about Collins are in line with her history of incendiary commentary, further polarizing opinions on her approach to political discourse. As Collins continues her career at CNN, Kelly’s attack is likely to fuel ongoing debates about media bias and the personal nature of political commentary in today’s media landscape.
