Last month, Madonna was rushed to the emergency room due to a serious bacterial infection, as confirmed by her longtime manager, Guy Oseary. He shared the news on Instagram, stating that although her health is improving, she is still under medical care, and a full recovery is expected. Consequently, Madonna’s Celebration Tour had to be postponed.
In her statement, Madonna shared her initial thoughts upon waking up in the hospital, emphasizing her concern for her children and her determination not to disappoint her fans who had purchased tickets for the tour. She also acknowledged the hard work put in by those who collaborated with her to create the show. Madonna’s main focus now is her health and regaining strength, and she assured her fans that she will be back as soon as possible.
The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and commence in Europe in October. Madonna expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the care and support she has received. Originally scheduled to begin on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, the 84-date tour is a celebration of Madonna’s 40th career anniversary.
